About Nari Kalyan Shikshan Evam Prashikshan Sansthan

Nari Kalyan Shikshan Evam Prashikshan Sansthan, having its registered office at 11/575, Ganeshpur, Rehmanpur, Matiyari Chauraha, Chinhat, Lucknow, 226028, U.P. is a voluntary Social Organization registered under Indian Societies Registration Act was established by Afsana Khan a long time Social Activist as well as a Fashion Designer, , State Awardee and artisan at the same time. Sansthan was established with basic aim of providing social services to all community. These services include training programmes, rural educational programmes, awareness programmes & cultural activities etc. with fund absorption capacity of around Rs. 20 lakhs and presence in 150 Villages of Lucknow, Lakhimpur, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, & Allahabad District.
Nari Kalyan Shikshan Evam Prashikshan Sansthan is working with school drop outs and children working in restaurants & in brick fields. Through the Awareness Generation Pogrammes the organization also works in other villages of Lucknow district. The Sansthan has been carrying out the job of formation of Self Help Groups(SHGs) in rural areas of Districts mentioned of 1150 + 50 villages of Lucknow at any time, as ground work/preparation through SHG groups is already in progress in these slums . From the review of the financial information sent by the Organization, it appears to us that the organization maintains good financial health and is also funded by other funding organizations such as NABARD, DRDA, KHADI Commission, (DC) Handicrafts. The organization is helped by the above mentioned organizations in bringing forward rural women & helping them for their betterment. The Sansthan has 12000 Artisans making it a strong player in this field.

Empowering Rural Women through Skill Development
India is mid-way through the G20 presidency and has been tasked with significant work in the key areas of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), two areas of special mention are SDG 5 – Gender equality and SDG 8 – Decent work and economic growth.

Women form a significant proportion of work force in India. The key strategy for women’s empowerment and gender equality is to combine policy and institutions at the local level.
Aims & Objectives

The basic objectives of the proposal for implementation of this project is to upgrade the existing skill as well as to add the additional skills to handicrafts artisans/ craft persons through industry linked vocational training program/ skill 9 development programmes, entrepreneurship development programmes, etc. The participants shall get the benefits of exposure/ interaction with the other courses allied to the crafts.
The project has been envisaged to provide training to the potential artisans by Organizing training programmes to educate and create an environment conducive to the technology development programmes and design workshops. The basic objectives are briefly narrated as follows:

Building-up strong technically equipped skilled manpower in all over India.

Providing linkages with the industry i.e., trainings linked placement in the industry or customized training in association with handicrafts exporting units of all district.

Awareness about the new design and adaptation methods with the services of experienced designers.

In view of the foregoing paragraphs the basic objective for the implementation of this ambitious project is to provide an integrated approach of development of the current skills of artisans, with market linkages and institutional support.

WORK AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Today Our country is facing problems of illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and so on, India’s ¾ populations is dependent on agriculture and most of them suffer on account of non availability of continued employment and proper returns, therefore, there is not much improvement in the financial position & living conditions of the people. Consequently unemployment and poverty has generated disappointment among the common masses. To solve this gigantic problem the immediate need of the time is to diversify the “MAN POWER” from agriculture to other sectors of working and employment and preparing the people by motivation, information and skills Training for the change over to the new avenues of self employment.
